Speakers Series: In 1999 – 2000, Gaston Together raised funds to attract national speakers such as; Wally “Famous” Amos, Rudy Rudiger of Notre Dame fame, Anthony Compolla, and Art Linkletter to provide inspirational messages to citizens to promote community pride.

“Take One” Photo Contest: As a part of the “Promote Gaston” Campaign in 2001, Gaston Together conducted a photo contest for residents of Gaston County. The photos were exhibited in the Rauch Science and Fine Arts Building at Gaston College.
