Gaston Together is pleased to share that the Gaston Controlled Substances Coalition (GCSC) is becoming part of Gaston County Community Support Services effective July 1, 2024. This is an exciting step for the coalition that will provide additional administrative resources.

 

Under Gaston Together, the GCSC has grown so that its work includes multiple areas in the community. The shift to working with Community Support Services will help the GCSC continue the work that Gaston Together established.

 

The graduation of the GCSC from Gaston Together to Community Support Services demonstrates the goal of many of Gaston Together’s programs. Gaston Together works to improve the quality of life in Gaston County. To address issues, we work with different groups in the county to decide what to address first and enact solutions through programming. We are proud that part of our work is allowing programs to grow and move on when the time is right.

 

Finally, the graduation of the GCSC allows us to expand some of our current wellness offerings, and to create new, exciting programs. We are expanding our Naloxone Training program and Just Call, and be on the lookout for more information about our new loneliness resource page!
